Death threats. Racist insults. Sexual harassment. Call centre workers across Canada face this abuse every day.
Workers at some centres just have to take it. They can’t hang up - no matter what the caller says. At other centres, workers face disciplinary action if they hang up or pass on abusive calls.
We are calling on all Canadian call centre employers to adopt the Hang Up on Abuse Policy, empowering their workers to end or pass on abusive calls - without fear of losing their jobs.
